Pentagon Finally Admits Killing Family of 10, Including 7 Children In Kabul Drone Strike ‘Was a mistake’ [VIDEO]

In less than a week after the New York Times published a story revealing overwhelming evidence that the Biden administration killed an Afghan family of civilians, including seven children, in a drone strike on August 29 in Kabul, the Pentagon is apologizing, but only because they had to.

“It was a mistake, and I offer my sincere apology,” said Commander of US Central Command General Kenneth McKenzie, who admitted that they failed to hit a suspected ISIS-K member but droned and killed the family of a US NGO aid worker, Zemari Ahmadi, killing 7 children and 3 adults.

“This strike was taken in the earnest belief that it would prevent an imminent threat to our forces in the evacuees at the airport, but it was a mistake. And I offer my sincere apology. As the combatant commander. I am fully responsible for the strike in this tragic outcome.”

Wrong! This strike was done so that Joe Biden could look like he was a strong bad ass leader after he alone caused the completely botched withdrawal of our military first and then American civilians and Afghan allies. In the end, he left hundreds of American citizens behind. He needed a win, and he thought droning an ISIS-K operative was the way to go but he has surrounded himself with the most incompetent people imaginable.

Remember, McKenzie was the yokel who handed over security for Kabul airport to the Taliban, our enemy. That one action could be the cause of the debacle that unfolded during the withdrawal. Taliban set up checkpoints and were not letting all Americans to get through.

The Times had reported that “Military officials said they did not know the identity of the car’s driver when the drone fired, but deemed him suspicious because of how they interpreted his activities that day, saying that he possibly visited an ISIS safe house and, at one point, loaded what they thought could be explosives into the car.”

Times reporting has identified the driver as Zemari Ahmadi, a longtime worker for a U.S. aid group. The evidence, including extensive interviews with family members, co-workers and witnesses, suggests that his travels that day actually involved transporting colleagues to and from work. And an analysis of video feeds showed that what the military may have seen was Mr. Ahmadi and a colleague loading canisters of water into his trunk to bring home to his family.

While the U.S. military said the drone strike might have killed three civilians, Times reporting shows that it killed 10, including seven children, in a dense residential block.

Mr. Ahmadi, 43, had worked since 2006 as an electrical engineer for Nutrition and Education International, a California-based aid and lobbying group. The morning of the strike, Mr. Ahmadi’s boss called from the office at around 8:45 a.m., and asked him to pick up his laptop. -NYT

The droning murder of this family is either based on a lie or sheer incompetence. The most striking thing of all is that no one is going to be held accountable for it. Today, we have woke commanders and administration officials who, if we’re lucky, will say something like they accept full responsibility, but then nothing ever happens to them to assure the American people that they were held responsible. No one is ever fired, demoted, not even a nasty note added to their personnel file. After these kinds of things you just hear the guilty party give off a collective “Phew!”

Earlier this week, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) grilled Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the drone strike.

“The guy the Biden administration droned, was he an aid worker or an ISIS-K operative?” asked Paul.

“The administration is reviewing that strike, and I’m sure that a full assessment will be forthcoming,” Blinken replied. “I don’t know because we’re reviewing it.”

“You’d think you’d kinda know before you off somebody with a predator drone whether he’s an aid worker or he’s in ISIS,” Paul shot back.

It’s very important to take in what Senator Paul said. He pointed out that no one is being held accountable for abandoning the Bagram air base, and having everyone circle the wagons and saying, “Hey, we all agreed that abandoning Bagram Air Force Base was a great idea. This is going to be remembered by the people. Holding no one accountable for letting the base go. It will be remembered.”

Senator Paul is onto something. Administration officials are copying the behavior of their feckless leader, Joe Biden, who always tries to justify a horrible and incompetent decision by claiming there was “unanimity” in the decision to do whatever catastrophic thing they did. It’s like Al Gore’s old argument that science dictates that climate change is being caused by man because of a consensus of so-called scientists. In the end, even claims of unanimity or consensus are usually discovered to be just another lie.

The reason why this administration never holds anyone accountable is because, for them, holding someone accountable reflects badly on the entire administration and they can’t have that. They really are too naïve to realize that while it may save them from anyone having to take responsibility in the way that responsibility should be meted out, but the American people will never accept it and loss of trust is far worse than taking responsibility for bad actions. In this case, not accepting full responsibility will come back to bite us, because this droning, and the lackadaisical way the administration is dealing with the fallout, has created new enemies for the US. The Afghan people will remember.
