On Sunday, CNN’s Brian Stelter, who if you can believe it is CNN’s chief media correspondent, challenged an allegation that Bari Weiss, a former New York Times opinion editor, made about leftists stifling debate on important issues. The only way he would ever be accused of having a brain is if someone misspelled his name.
The little Humpty Dumpty Stelter, who lied to his audience about Russian collusion every time he was on the air for over two and a half years, got his rear end handed to him by Weis who turned the tables on Stelter and slammed his own Fake News network.
Stelter is the host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” a show that I believe is the single most misnamed show on cable news. During a recent episode, Stelter asked the former opinion editor about a statement in her “Common Sense” newsletter on Substack, a platform where writers can post their stories without the worry of people like Brian Stelter censoring them, that “the world has gone mad. Science is at the mercy of politics. Identity trumps ideas. In the name of progress, art is erased and history is rewritten. Obvious truths are dangerous to say out loud.”
“So, in what ways has the world gone mad?” Stelter asked Weiss with his usual smirk he puts on when he thinks he’s going to trounce someone.
Weiss was ready for the question because, as you could tell, she thought a lot about the topic as many millions of Americans have as well.
“When you have the chief reporter on the beat of COVID for the New York Times talking about how questioning or pursuing the question of the lab leak is racist, the world has gone mad,” she said. “When you’re not able to say out loud and in public that there are differences between men and women, the world has gone mad. When we’re not allowed to acknowledge that rioting is rioting, and it is bad, and that silence is not violence but violence is violence, the world has gone mad. When we’re not able to say that Hunter Biden’s laptop is a story worth pursuing, the world has gone mad. When, in the name of progress, young school children, as young as kindergarten, are being separated in public schools because of their race, and that is called “progress” rather than “segregation,” the world has gone mad.”
Stelter broke in and interrupted her to stop the hemorrhaging he realized was happening to his network the ore she spoke and tried to push back on her claim that debate and discussion is “not allowed” and asked who is “stopping the conversation. Who are they?”
Stelter is either a complete ignoramus or a filthy liar. You can be the judge. There is no way he doesn’t know the pressure put on people who disagree with the Woke Supremacy that he is a part of.
Again, Weiss was at the ready for Stelter’s challenge and slammed CNN as well.
“People that work at networks like, frankly, like the one I’m speaking on right now, who try and claim that it was racist to investigate the lab-leak theory.”
She’s right. CNN and the rest of the usual suspects said it was racist to call COVID-19 the Wuhan virus. People had to remind the Fake News networks that viruses are named after their origin points. The Spanish Flu, Lyme Disease, Ebola, etc. just to name a few. It appeared that the Fake news outlets went out of their way to protect China while at the same time accusing Trump and his supporters of being racist by calling it the Wuhan Virus or the China Virus.
Stelter tried to argue back saying that journalists are not being prevented from discussing or questioning any of the issues she mentioned. She replied with a response that is obvious to anyone who is to the right of Vladimir Lenin, pointing out that the consequences of saying anything that goes agains the Woke supremacy leads to cancel culture which could bring a whole host of problems your way, things like losing your job, being kicked off social media platforms, even doxxed and put in physical harm’s way.
“You and I both know — and it would be delusional to claim otherwise — that touching your finger to an increasing number of subjects that have been deemed third rail by the mainstream institutions and increasingly by some of the tech companies will lead to reputational damage, perhaps you losing your job, your children sometimes being demonized as well, and so what happens is a kind of an internal self censorship,” Weiss told the bobble headed Stelter. “This is something that I saw over and over again when I was at the New York Times.”
She hit Stelter between the eyes with the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop, saying, “is one of the great stories of our time, and that is the story that’s been uncovered largely not because of disinformation or not because they’re lying about it, simply because they’re ignoring it — it’s disinformation by omission.” BAM!
The New York Post broke the Hunter Biden laptop story only weeks before the 2020 election, a story about the Biden family’s corruption via Hunter Biden’s shady business dealings overseas, particularly in Ukraine and China. On the laptop were emails and documents that incriminate members of the Biden family, including “the big guy” which people in the know say is Joe Biden.
For breaking that story, Twitter locked the New York Post, the oldest continuously published newspaper in our nation’s history, established November 16, 1801, out of their account. The Post was founded by Founding Father Alexander Hamilton who became the first Secretary of the Treasury and was a New York resident.
Twitter worked overtime blocking anyone from sharing the Post’s story of Hunter’s laptop. Democrats and Fake News anchors and pundits immediately referred to the story as Russian disinformation. But it was all true.
CNN started reporting on the federal investigation that was ongoing over Hunter’s laptop after the election in December 2020. And they acted like it was breaking news, like they never heard of it. They wanted you to forget that they called you a crackpot or a spreader of Russian disinformation if you talked about it.
Bari Weiss wrote and said exactly what we have all been saying and wanting to say on social media platforms for quite some time. I can tell you right now that there are at least three topics I can not write about today for fear of being deplatformed from several tech tyrant social media platforms. What Weiss talked about is very real and very dangerous for a Constitutional repuplic.
