Ben & Jerry’s, the progressive, woke ice cream maker, scooped out a bowl of misinformation – they outright lied – about Kyle Rittenhouse in a tweet this past Thursday. Also in the tweet, they conjured up a fake and imaginary scenario concerning the shootings in an effort to stir chaos and more radicalized rioting on the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and who knows, maybe to reignite the national riots of the summer of 2020. And they were called out for spreading such blatant lies on a public platform.
The shooting that occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin, that night had absolutely nothing to do with race and the fact that the three who were shot were white males backs that up. Just like the Fake News media not having a racial narrative they could exploit for political gain, the ice cream maker made one up out of whole cloth. All the people involved were white, but that didn’t stop the CNNs and MSNBCs from calling Rittenhouse a white supremacist and it didn’t stop Ben & Jerry’s from bringing race into the story.
In an effort to sprinkle some nuts onto an already nutty controversial case, the woke company took to social media to fudge up the story:

To inject such a despicable hypothetical scenario into this case, at this stage of the game, is political posturing to create a racially charged atmosphere that has the potential to promote rioting that will cost more people their lives. It is one of the most irresponsible statements I’ve ever heard from a corporation while a trial is still ongoing, woke or not.
The ice cream maker spread the outright lie that Rittenhouse carried a rifle across state lines. That has been debunked for over a year.
The Office of the State’s Attorney in Lake County, Illinois released a statement on October 13, 2020, over a year ago, on an investigation into the question of the rifle crossing over state lines. The investigation concluded that Rittenhouse was never in possession of the rifle while he was in the state of Illinois:
An extensive investigation was conducted by the Antioch Police Department regarding the gun used in a shooting in Kenosha on Aug. 28. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office has reviewed that investigation to determine if any crimes were committed in Lake County, Illinois.
To that end, the investigation revealed the gun used in the Kenosha shooting was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin. Additionally, there is no evidence the gun was ever physically possessed by Kyle Rittenhouse in Illinois.
The rabble rousing tweet from Ben & Jerry’s didn’t even get the firearm accurately. It was not an AR-15, which has been the boogeyman of rifles for leftist gun haters since the time of Adam and Eve. The rifle Rittenhouse was carrying that night was a Smith & Wesson M&P 15.
Twitter was quick to melt down the ice cream company’s tweet:

This case is more about the right to self defense. The arguments made by leftists have nothing to do with that. The Fake News media created the narrative that Rittenhouse traveled to Kenosha just to cause trouble and shoot someone, and while they told that lie they left out the part that the young man’s father lives in Kenosha so it was as much his community as was the one in Illinois when he lives with his mother.
Just because he carried a rifle did not mean he was there to shoot someone because they were rioting. It’s clear that Rittenhouse carried the rifle to protect himself while he was there to help victims of the riot. Let’s not forget that at the time of the shooting we were going through the “summer of love” where Americans watched in horror as Democrat governors and mayors throughout the country were allowing rioters, looters, arsonists, and murderers run wild and free every night throughout the summer. Many Americans wanted to do something to help the millions of innocent people who were having their lives turned upside down.
Kyle Rittenhouse clearly stepped up and went to help people in his and his father’s community and he was attacked by criminals who tried to kill him. That is the main point of this whole case. Had Rittenhouse not had the rifle that night, he would probably not be here to be put on trial for defending himself. Liberals who would never have thought twice about his death should Rittenhouse have been killed because he couldn’t defend himself should let that sink in.
